A Life in France

Winter in South West France

Winter is a lovely time to visit South West France. It is often warmer than the weather in the UK, although we do get some snow from time to time and there are generally many more sunny days.

During winter the landscape is different, but by no means any less beautiful than during the summer months.

Labat Grange has a full oil-fired central heating system with radiators in every room (including the bathrooms). It also has a lovely woodburning stove with a plentiful supply of logs so it is incredibly cosy during colder weather.

Winter is a perfect time to explore the region, or to arrange a househunting trip. The roads are quieter and everyone has more time to give help and advice.

Christmas and New Year at Labat

Christmas here is wonderful, the food and wine are first class and there are Christmas events and markets taking place throughout the festive season all over the region.

For a festive visit, Labat Grange is an ideal place to stay. It is close to Agen with it's programme of Christmas and New Year events. The fully equipped kitchen with large modern oven and gas hob is ideal for those who enjoy cooking and would like to cater for themselves. If the kitchen is definately not where you want to be, most local restaurants are open on Christmas day. We will provide you with a restuarant list in advance and book the restaurant of your choice for your Christmas lunch if this is what you would prefer (subject to availability - if you book a Christmas break in December, it may be difficult to get a reservation for Christmas day).

To make your Christmas or New Year holiday particularly festive, Labat Grange will be decorated for your stay with a real Christmas tree. We will also provide a festive hamper for you on arrival containing local delicacies and wines, a Christmas pudding and some other essential items to ensure that your stay is a comfortable one.
