operate low cost flights to Bergerac from Stanstead, Bristol and Birmingham airports. Flights are available
to Toulouse and Bordeaux from most British airports with a variety of airlines. Car hire is available at all 3 airports
although it pays to get in earlier if flying to Bergerac as it is a very small airport and at the time of writing there is only

By CarIt is a long drive through France, roughly 10 hours driving to get to us here in Lot et Garonne. Many people prefer to do the drive all in one go and not use up too much of their holiday on the road, but if you have young children or just wish to see some of the beautiful French scenery on the way down, it may be a good idea to have one or two stops on route. We have found the Novotel chain of hotels very good value on our frequent drives to the UK and back. They are not the cheapest hotel chain but they are the only ones who would accommodate the two of us and our two children all in one room. Other reasonable hotels to try are Ibis and Kyriad. For the crossing you can either go via Eurotunnel, which takes about half an hour or by Ferry which takes a couple of hours. Useful links: |
